Pentax Optio W90 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera is quite simply the best camera I have ever owned. It is perfect for every situation- underwater or otherwise. It has a mode to fit every situation I encountered on my recent vacation to Oahu, Hawaii. See the "customer images" at the top for my example pictures. The landscape mode is stunning and brings out the greens and blues in a landscape. Pictures of landscapes from my 14 megapixel Samsung look dim and boring in comparison to this camera's landscape mode. And microscope mode can turn the simplest items (sand, dirt, bark) into professional-looking photography. With sand, you can see the individual grains and shells with incredible detail. I even used this mode on a sweet potato... it looked like a purple grand canyon (yeah, the sweet potatoes in Hawaii are purple for some reason). Microscope mode also works well underwater as well for things such as fish and hermit crabs. Panoramic mode is easy to use and patches up to 3 pictures together very well (as long as there aren't moving people or cars in the picture... then there are ghosts of these items where it was stitched together). I took a panoramic picture at the top of Diamond Head that looked incredible. Even the "food" mode impressed me; it made a simple picture of a meal from a shrimp shack look professional and rich in color. Basically, the different modes on this camera automatically make the same adjustments to the pictures that I would normally make in Photoshop, except without the hassle and hundreds of dollars worth of software.

My only semi-complaint is that when on the highest quality settings, the movie mode used a TON of space on my memory card. A 90 second video took up almost 300MB! Although that is way too large for a video that short, I have still left it on the highest setting because I don't want to sacrifice any quality (especially when these videos involve giant sea turtles). Also, optical zoom is not available during video; it is purely digital zoom.

And finally, my favorite mode on this Pentax Optio W90 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera is the underwater picture/video mode. I used it while snorkeling in Hanauma Bay and took stunning pictures and videos of tropical fish, giant sea turtles, squid, and so much more. With my goggles on, I could easily see the screen of the camera and had no trouble change modes while underwater. It was just as easy to operate underwater as it was above water. I was surprised to learn that the microphone actually picked up sound underwater. You could hear me breathing through the snorkel and if there are people yelling nearby, you can still hear it underwater. My only problem was that when there was a lot of sand floating in the water, the camera focused on the floating sand instead of the turtle behind it. But this only happened when I put my feet on the sand, which probably kicked it up into the water. So be careful about that.

Three pieces of advice on Pentax Optio W90 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera:

1. The reality of my life is that the other members of my family unit consist of two hyper little kids and a clumsy wife. I learned many cameras ago that my cameras MUST be water/drool-proof, shock-proof, nag-proof, and any other proofs they can come up with. Yes, I might sacrifice some picture quality or credit card slim size for my requirements but what good are those other cameras (like a few of my old ones) if they are "accidentally" broken within one month?

My other digital camera is an Olympus Stylus Weather/Shock that is a few years old. I must say that so far after a month's usage I prefer the Fujifilm FinePix XP10 12 MP Waterproof Digital Camera over my other camera.

What I like about the Fujifilm FinePix XP10 12 MP Waterproof Digital Camera:
-Good size and form factor. Thumbs up to the large display screen.
-I like that it takes a standard memory card (which was included). My Olympus takes strange size memory card (=expensive, hard to find).
-Easy to use (point and shoot). Picture quality seems decent enough though not as good as some of the high end cameras
-Did I mention it is weatherproof and shockproof? Hasn't broken yet. I do give my other Olympus camera a thumbs up for surviving several years.
-Value for the price.

What could be better for next Fujifilm Waterproof Digital Camera:
-Battery life hasn't seemed that great to me as of yet, but does come with a charger. Battery life still better than my Olympus though.
-Battery hatch hard to open. I consider myself fairly good with gadgets but I actually had to read the instructions to figure out how to open the battery hatch = there will be questions/complaints/nags about this from my wife & kids.

In summary, this Fujifilm FinePix XP10 12 MP Waterproof Digital Camera fulfills my mandatory requirement of weatherproof/shockproof. Second most important to me is size/wearability and this Camera is good in that area. Decent pictures are expected as a given and delivered by this camera. Price for what you get is a good value. = 5 stars by me (so far). Will it survive the perils of life with my family?...only time will tell...if it breaks within one year I will add an update to this review.

We got this to replace our Olympus was stiff after several years of loyal service was transmitted to adolescents. Having just gotten back from a trip to national parks in Canada, we could be happy with. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 14.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera took great pictures (at least to our untrained eyes) in the range of conditions obtaining at the time of the middle of the rain the sun, inside and outside, near and far . With approximately 900 shots behind us, we are very pleased with the quality of both pictures and HD videos. Of course, the best part of robust cameras that you can put them (as we did) rafting on the hiking trail, etc., and small enough to slip into the back pocket (in case it is not break when you accidentally sit on it under the car). He already has a few battle scars from falls of the boat and mountain bike (doh!) but it lasted no problem. And the videos we are going in the Class IV rapids with the recording of the camera is priceless. A high-end camera but it is too sensitive and too bulky to carry when you're in the "wilderness" or on the beach or just knocking around on your bike.

2) AVCHD Lite has been a pain and should be converted on my Mac to get into iMovie - import in error as a first step speed and output audio and video synchronization, but was recovered with software conversion and download twice the hours of aggravation (I should have listened to other reviewers and changed the format before you start!)
3) You must wait through boring presentations that boards of tightness when you do first, and if you do not go through the whole thing, it will keep coming back until you do - shows throughout the first time!

Ultimately, we love the camera and we are confident we made the right choice instead of the old Olympus. You will not be disappointed. We've combined the 16GB P2 card TS16GSDHC6 win, and the room was all it took for a trip of 10 days. Have fun!

I bought the 310 with my Canon DiCAPac Waterproof Digital Camera Case use SD850is. I use the product on the beach and snorkeling at three different and the Western Caribbean cruise. Before leaving home, I tried the package in the kitchen sink with paper towel inside to begin with, if not my camera. Worked great, so test the camera. I always check the seal type triple zipper and Velcro seals before each use. There was a drop of water inside!

The dial side of my camera it was difficult to change when the package was, so I usually left on auto, although I did switch to video mode a few times. As some people mentioned, if the camera is not just right, about 3 shots of my 75-100 had a black ring. Just getting used to it helped a lot. I was a bit 'skeptical, based on a number of negative reviews, but thought this case was worth a try for the price. I tested it with some clothes first, and everything came out dry. Then I tried my camera in the sink, and it worked great. I got this case with me in Panama and worn while snorkeling, kayaking and rafting, and the pictures came out great. When you receive, you can see if the images are black ring around them and you can move the camera accordingly. I am very happy with this case, because without that, I could not capture the experiences of my trip. I advise you to keep the issue on its head, as if the camera abandonment (if open), or the camera wet. However, if you read the directions first, do not make this mistake.

DicaPac WP410 Underwater Camera Review By A. Finley

I recently purchased this product for use in Hawaii and it worked as expected. I used it with an Olympus FE170. As another review said, be sure to close the portion of the zipper. Then you just roll up and seal the bag and you're done. I was able to get some nice underwater photos while snorkeling, and water while kayaking.

I only have one small complaint. The fit is good water, but once you get into the water, not much security. I had to hold the camera at all times in one hand and the other, it's pretty easy to navigate, with fins, but it was not ideal. I would prefer a bracelet safer. And a tip, if you leave the water to take a picture back on the boat or beach, be sure to stop the water from the lens. I came back with a couple of pictures of water droplets were large image distortion, and when the camera into the sun shines and you really can not see the LCD screen to the camera.

I bought the 410 DiCAPac waterproof case for my Canon Powershot SD1200IS and functions as a dream.After a wonderful nine years riding with my Canon Powershot SD110 - the camera is poor fall, many times and exposed to a multitude of factors - the finally met his match after a fall in the sand. When the lens closed because of the auto power off, the sand has been drawn into the camera lens and the engine died after repeated attempts to turn it on. After extensive research, I chose to replace my SD110 with the new SD1200IS. Therefore, I swore to the camera again to get exposed to sand. Always.

After looking in their own watertight solution for Canon, I was quickly off his ridiculous price tag - it was more expensive than the same camera! I was pleasantly surprised to DiCAPac solution, but understandably concerned about the low price. Still, I decided to buy one and test. After passing a series of tissue paper and immersion trials, I finally took the plunge and installed my new SD1200IS in it and brought it to the beach. The case worked like a charm, not only in the sand, but also in salt water. The picture quality was exceptional - you may not know the difference between the case and out-of-all shot by accident. The only minor complaint I had was that the case of default configuration goal was perhaps 1 to 2 mm too short to SD1200IS's lens is fully extended. Fortunately, the DiCAPac case came with a barrel extender I have installed a fast fix.This is a great product that works as advertised. Highly recommended.

I am very impressed with the quality of this camera. The 12 megapixels coupled with a dozen shooting modes, producing an excellent image. They are used to control aperture and shutter speed on camera, so just choose "portrait" mode or "night" exposure and let the camera do all the work seems too easy. On a recent trip to Tahiti I Believe I Have tried about Every kind of one-time use underwater room on the market (ie, Kodak Max Sport, Kodak Max Wet, and Konica Waterproof Camera and the Fuji). All of the cameras Worked fine snorkeling, although I found the Konica and the Kodak Max Wet To Be More Difficult to use. [The Konica Was a Little Difficult to see through the view finder with a mask on, and the Kodak Max Wet, most annoyingly Had the strap and the photo button on opposite sides of the room! A real disadvantage to a right handed person. As a result Essentially you HAD to use two hands to take a photo, one to hold the room and the other to the depressed button. Any of These cameras will work fine for snorkeling, However the best Were the Fuji and Kodak Sport. Keep in mind That all underwater photos will look blue to bits, However, snorkeling in the lagoon in Tahiti, the blue WAS not really noticeable.

Here's the part I really like, now I ADMIT, Contrary to manufacturer recommendations, I did take Both the Fuji and the Kodak Max Wet room room with me Scuba Diving. According To directions in the manufacturer's recommended Fuji chamber depth is 17 feet [Which Is The Deepest Any one-time use of room on the market]. On my dives We Never Went Deeper Than about 22 feet. The problem with diving with These cameras is the pressure - you can take a photo just fine, But two to the pressure you will be Unable to wind the film. However, I used the Fuji Room without Any problems - I Was Able to always wind the film and the photos Came out wonderfully - although They Were blue. The Kodak Max Wet Room Would continually freeze up, Thus in order to take a photo you Would Have to snap the picture, go up Several feet, wind the film then go back down - not very convenient and as a result I Took Photos Very Few . Purchased the camera in the autumn of 2008, our 25th anniversary cruise in Tahiti. I've tried less expensive room (do not remember the name - was a small yellow box) at home to take pictures on a regular basis and were terrible. During the cruise, we snorkled all the doors and I took hundreds of pictures of underwater - in some countries. The stars that I gave what I want to look the camera in its class, not how it compares to other full-featured digital cameras. Almost did not buy this little camera is based on other reviews. But I was tired of spending and worry about a film disposable underwater cameras. And its price at about the same as buying and developing countries, two cameras, disposable underwater film. So I decided to give it a try. I am very glad I did buy! I used the highest settings (640x480), but some compression so I could still fit 78 photos in its memory. This turned out pictures that I felt like taking a snorkeling session. Between sessions of snorkeling I moved photos from my laptop and was willing to take 78 more pictures of my first snorkeling session. 640x480 is a reasonable size for printing 4x6 prints and I had developed my film in your camera case. So I do not think that the 640x480 resolution is too low.

Other reviews complained that the camera thing is losing water. It is only intended to resisteant water up to 9 meters. So do not plan any dives in deep water. When I got I got a camera, put the Kleenex, sealed, and swished around in the water for some time. Never had wet Kleenex. I recommend you try before you receive any of the work in the water. I got this camera two snorkeling. It gets a bit 'wet inside another trip, but does not interfere with the camera.

Other reviews complained that there is no evidence to show the photos you have taken. But compared with disposable film cameras that I tried to replace, niether one has this feature. So I could not count against this. At least with this camera you can delete the last picture taken when I know I took a picture, for example, if the subject moved at the last moment, or if you accidentally took a picture of the seabed. I can not do the camera. So this is better than the film camera.Do its poor photos in this camera? Yes, but I do with a camera too. Or so I delete the photos when I see them on my computer instead of paying to have them printed. Also, I can easily edit images from this camera are brighter limit or what I want quite easily on your computer. My camera movies that I go through the hassle of crawling before you do anything to fix the photo. So in this sense, totally love this camera than a film disposable underwater cameras.

My only complaint about this camera is that there is a way to take pictures from your camera without having to download the software that came with it. Download the software has a function can not turn off automatically change the resolution to double the size of the photo. For example, if you have a 640x480 image will be loaded when the computer is 1280x960. Anyone who works with digital images on your computer to know when you add the picture resolution, you get images of lower quality. I tried to contact the responsible Jazz cameras, but I never received a reply from them. So I think some of my pictures would be ambiguous. Even so, I have some photos, which was very sharp, bright colors, have this little camera. If this feature, which doubles the resolution, I would have given this camera for at least 4 stars.

It 'a toy? Perhaps, but it's a fun toy, and you can do a lot of funny pictures and reused time and again. This is a great substitute for disposable underwater film cameras. But if you're really in the world of photography to take pictures and large, stay away from this camera and underwater housing for digital camera choice. (I also like the fact that it looks cheap toy - I do not care that someone wants to steal this little camera as if I had good digital camera.) I'm trying to add some images are photos I took with this camera, so you can see with its that kind of picture that takes.

The first rule of photography is underwater distance. No larger than 8 feet of water between you and the object. According to physics, light travels slower in water than in air, so the amount of light the camera can capture with their lens limited disposable camera is smaller than in air.

I bought this camera at the dive shop with a limited understanding of the distance. Images come out great! Of the 27 exposures do not exceed 1 files, octopus rarely stay still for pictures.

Took snorkeling off St. Croix. Where the light was good, the pictures turned out ok but the color was more blue than necessary. I was able to color balance the digital copies I got to make most turn out pretty good but the prints from development were too blue in almost all cases.

Each year I purchase a couple of these cameras for our snorkeling trips or just horsing around in the pool. They take great pics, have a rubberband type handle so you don't loose them in the water, and they're very inexpensive. Especially great for kids to use.

I bought the Pentax W60 for about six months ago due to an indoor water park. I wanted something that would be functionally equivalent to my current Canon SD 870 IS videos small and light, decent still images, decent.

Since then, the Pentax camera has become my standard.

Pros:
decent image quality
some clean clever schemes
waterproof and dustproof does not care environment for children to play!

Cons:
Auto-focus seems to be correct more often than my Canon
no swap with a button and still in movie mode
zoom quality seems less
zooming during video has major problems great attention
short battery life per charge

I had only one camera for all occaisions, those against overwhelming, but I also have a Nikon D90 which I use for formal occaisions or very dramatic scene. So, for my use "newspapers, influenced by the robust nature of the waterproof housing.

I want to comment specifically on the video rec. First, my Canon (and all its ancestors) has a simple physical switch to switch from one mode to another movie. The Pentax has a menu system that forces me to push a button to navigate to certain points, and push again. Under pressure to capture a boy in action, this is a recipe for failure. Second, the zoom may be less pleasing to the inability of a lens I check out the front, but are baffled by what appears to be the failure of the autofocus zoom in to a video.

Depending on your needs, you can create different ways these problems. For me, this camera is the ideal solution.

We bought this camera just before our trip a once-in-a-lifetime to the Galapagos Islands. Controls were easy to learn and the ability to switch between photos and video was wonderful, especially because the seal was taken play.We AA batteries, but had a problem with the battery life of water during our field trips, one of which lasted just over two hours. We took a right mix of video and still, and the Compact Flash card worked well. (I have the SanDisk Extreme III ... note that the camera can not read a GB on the card.)

The picture quality was very good diving, and was not on while the flash is strong enough for my man deep dive, it was good for me as I explore the beauty of the underwater world snorkeling. The above-water pictures are very good also paid over - after receiving our "Dry Land-ounce camera from an errant wave, I started this almost every time we were in a camera boat.The was little building itself is relatively small, relatively easy and very reliable. (height and weight are important, because our luggage restrictions.) The casing and controls are nearly identical to the Mini Underwater Camera SeaLife ReefMaster, only a better price!

I bought "Underwater Housing Case for Canon Powershot SD1100, SD1000, SD890IS, SD850IS, SD790IS SD770IS, SD750, SD630, digital cameras, to Cancun and I own Canon SD750. I remember opening it and be a little worried that it would not work, so I tried it in the sink with a piece of paper and not leak or problem. So I gave my camera and went to the beach happy to shoot in the ocean and pool. It was perfect for our trip, because my wife and I could take a picture of himself while swimming around. Sometimes I will ask other tourists to our picture of the beach and would worry about getting sand in the camera and say let me dry your hands, but we tell them not to worry, because if prevents anything from getting on camera. In the pool we have pictures of our faces under water and images were clear. Sometimes when we took pictures underwater, either at sea or pool, if there was very visible, so all you could see a shade of blue water. So if the water visibility is good so the camera could take good pictures. While we were in the pool, I also tested the buoyancy and float with your camera case inside. We went also to Chichen Itza in the middle of our visit there was a fierce rain in about 30 minutes but I was able to put stuff on before it began to rain, and it worked perfectly in the rain. No water leaks at all. We just do not like about it is that the lens part of the case is not always in line with the camera because the case is designed for one size fits all. So, if someone has set the lens correctly, that black circular outlines some of the images. If I had to do it again I would still buy this case. The price was cheaper than buying waterproof camera. It was wonderful to be able to take pictures in the ocean or the pool without having to worry about the camera to get ruined. Float and easy to install and carry. Another bonus that I remembered was when recording movies, we were able to record sound with the case without a problem which was really cool. Finally, I do not believe that the resolution was really changed by getting the case on that one.

I bought this for our trip to Hawaii. Used to be hard for our snorkel tours. Overall, it worked perfectly. It did what I had expected to do. It is not a perfect solution, but for what it is, I'm quite happy with it.

* Price: If you look at the alternatives, it is very economical solution. I spent a lot of waterproof cameras, and many questions about leakage or the image quality was poor, or very expensive ... or a combination of the above.
* Depth: If you have a little extra air when you go deeper underwater than other standard 6 "or 10" cameras.
* Photo quality / versatility: you get to control because it is your real camera. <300>Con this underwater housing case for Canon Powershot
* Fit: a couple has already been said, because it is a general pattern, it will comfortably fit your camera. They must ensure that your lenses in the middle of the cylinder lens. Otherwise you will have the black curves in the figure.
* Be careful packing: you have to do a good job packing it. It is not hard to do. Just be careful with it.
* Control: it may be harder dork around with the camera. It is not hard to press the button, but if you turn the camera (like the transition to go from picture to picture, or a lever to zoom in & out), it can be much more difficult to hit them with a hoe. If everything is controlled by button, not a problem.
* Viewfinder / monitor. Can it be real pain in the ass to watch the screen and / or in the viewfinder. Part of this is due to the brightness of the surroundings and the part due to an extra layer of material in the case. I ended up with only a couple of extra pictures to help make sure that I had at least one of what I wanted.

Solution: A couple of suggestions to solve some of the "con's"
* Fit: I rolled up tissue paper and place it in the bottom of the camera. This helped to close the camera to the proper height so that the lens was in the middle of the war. It also ended up helping to move the camera from side to side. Also find the smallest size of the model that suits your camera. Do not "play it safe" and buy a larger size.
* Seals: Make sure you are really diligent about it and test it. I would also make tissues in place to throw the opening closed. Be sure to leave the tissue seal. Tissue in the role is a big warning alerts you if it is a small leak. Tissue to absorb the leaks, and to see that this issue is before the camera absorbs water.

Overall I would definitely recommend.

This product is certainly one of the best buys for your money. It works like a charm. I did not want to fool a lot of money on a waterproof camera because I already had quite a good working camera. And I did not want to throw a camera because they simply are not the same picture quality.I gave my camera reluctantly in the case of my nephew and niece when we were in the pool with DicaPac. After hours of pleasure. But the camera dry as a bone! Only problem I have is that sometimes if you're not holding the camera, you get a funny shade of the lens holder. But you can always photo shop or plant it out. This item is in the best year I bought for my camera!

Not like a lot of money to spend on a tough case. Did this waterproof bag on a recent cruise in the Caribbean, and it worked great! Kept my camera dry, and I have some amazing pictures. Excellent value. The instructions are unclear, but it is easy to figure out how to use the bag.

I bought this underwater case for my trip to Cancun, Mexico, and was well worth the money! We used it for almost all outdoor activities: pictures in the pool, the beach, zip lining through waterfalls, snorkeling, caves, and all outdoor activities where damage could occur to the camera. This waterproof case protected our brand new camera (Canon SD780) from water, dust and dirt. I was out snorkeling for over an hour, where the camera was lowered into the sea all the time and it worked perfectly. We made many beautiful pictures, thanks, that would not be able to take without this case.

We saw some people with good underwater cameras, but were limited to 20-40 images and They cost around or over this matter. In this case, we had the luxury of taking as many pictures as we wanted and the Were you able to load the digital file on your computer.

The only drawback is that since the matter is universal, it was comfortable fit with our camera, so it was dissolved and the camera can slide a bit '. Another is that the extender piece lens in the middle blocking portion of the flash so it couldnt use the camera flash when shooting in a very full dark. This product was exactly what I was looking for. I used it in the pool with my Canon SD780IS twice today, and has some really awesome shots (and video) of children above and below the water surface. The photos and the video comes out very clearly. It 'hard to see LCD examining the case, but it is predictable. By pressing the buttons can be a bit 'too hard, but nothing that can not be controlled. If you are looking for an economic case waterproof to protect your expensive camera ... And 'one.

I bought the kit camera and flash together. The first time I used the camera, the housing has a little water (few drops), but it was salt water and the camera was fried. SeaLife replace both the body and the camera (their service is great!). The first time I went to use it on a recent trip, housing leaked in the rinse tank. The owner of the dive shop was there and I asked him to open it with me. None of us is something wrong with the O-ring seen. Room because he has not recovered and it was fresh water. I used both the camera and housing from the rest of the week. I had hosted cameras for over 20 years and this is the one that has leaked on me so I know how to make a case for the preparation diving. A sub colleague who is also very careful with the O-ring had a similar problem with DC-800 - random light without loss of O-ring problem. It seems that the case is very sensitive and I still hope that there are no leaks.It takes good pictures under water and I'm down to just over 100 FSW. So I can recommend. Just be careful of the housing estate. A suggestion by the technical department had been closed and the compression of housing not only on the closure of the O-ring.

Bought the camera for my daughter who works at the resort of Cancun in Mexico Xcaret, working with sharks and other sea creatures. I was surprised to discover that this type of camera used by divers and the Marine Park. They were leaving the size and quality of the camera. During my time with my daughter and we swam Trie the camera (in water and out of the water). The beautiful images taken in and out of the water. The video quality is great. (We did not test the video under water), but if you are looking for a solid camera, this is it! It 'was a good choice.

For a trip to Yucatan, I bought DC1000 SeaLife flash drive with the individual, as we expected diving, and a Canon D10 to create more options during snorkelling. The DC1000 has some nice features (push-button controls are generally easy to use under water) and a reasonable price for a camera capable of diving for those of us who have limited opportunities to do with underwater photography. In general, the machine worked well and some nice pictures under water 50 meters using the flash, which is essential in these conditions. As noted by prior research, however, performance for snorkeling in shallow water would have been much better. Initially I had problems with flash in these circumstances, often overwhelmed the image. After adjustment, smooth power, flash images worked well, but this means that the recordings of a case (eg fish) may be lost. There are other possibilities for adjusting flash (macro settings versus lung afstand) I can not kans had to prove results in May to improve, but the amount of Adjusting for a good result is frustrating that flash Obtain the flash Given zal naar expected to integrate the camera system. Because of the erratic results I was flash, I also examined other alternative non-flash. This reveals the biggest negative of the camera - the "special" underwater color bias settings seem to work simply by adding different levels of red at all, if the objects are red or not. In the future should consider SeaLife with Adobe to develop an algorithm for quality filtering. One option I tried was to manually set the white balance with the white collar included (another thing to take on water ...)-- this would solve the problem. other negative to the camera was a bad time when you try the settings for zoom, focus and a very slow shutter response due to lost images change. As I used the camera more, it seemed that the picture was taken when I release the button, but not when I initially depressed as one would expect to find in other cameras.
